2024 Xikou Festival-Dancing with the Glistening Reflections of Songshan

Launched in 2007, the Xikou Festival organized by the Songshan District Office has become an important annual local event. Celebrating its 18th year, the "2024 Xikou Festival: Dancing with the Glistening Reflections of Songshan" presents the "2024 Taipei Water Dance Festival" at the Xikou Wharf as the highlight of this year's events on May 18th (Saturday) from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the Xikou Wharf by the Rainbow Bridge (Chengmei Left Bank Riverside Park).

Standing by the Xikou Wharf, Ciyou Temple in the city’s Songshan district has guarded the Mazu (Goddess of the Sea) faith as an unwavering form of local religious belief amidst the changes of history. With the intersection of the metro and railway systems here, coupled with the rise of the Raohe Street Night Market commercial district, Xikou has become a pivotal transport hub in Taipei. The themes of this year's Xikou Festival are "gathering at the wharf to watch water dances, dynamic stage performances, and interactive booths." During the event, visitors can enjoy the adventurous theatrical performance "Adventure with the Sea Treasures" by the Hyperkids Theater troupe. Additionally, the festival will feature exciting dance performances by the Taiwan New Power Dance Troupe and New Century Culture Arts Group. There will also be booths at Chengmei Left Bank Riverside Park, offering activities such as body painting, Cormorant Fabric Printing DIY sessions, indigenous cultural showcases, and family interactive booths for the people of Taipei and visitors from elsewhere. 

By captivating visitors with vibrant dance performances, live theater, and interactive booths, we hope to create an immersive experience with the enchanting water dances for people strolling along the Keelung River in the evening. Against the backdrop of the kaleidoscopic lighting of the Rainbow Bridge, visitors will lose themselves in the spectacle, imprinting the liveliness of the Xikou Wharf area in their memories.
